~A SWEET DAY...WITH THE CUTTING CAFE~

The Cutting Cafe
HAPPY EASTER!!!! Definitely a sweet day for those of you that celebrate Easter, and those that don't, I wish you a beautiful and sweet day also!!! I think it's going to be a quiet day at home this year. With my youngest son away at Basic Training and my oldest busy spending time with his girlfriend before he leaves for Basic Training, it'll just leave me and my hubby here. It's odd not having to get Easter goodies ready and preparing to fix a big dinner today for everyone. I guess when they get older, especially in the military, it's something we've gotten used to, and now with the boys going away, something I'LL have to get used to.
So instead of doing all the regular Easter stuff, I spent my evening crafting! Our upcoming inspiration at The Cutting Cafe was to work with one of the below files...
STRING AND BUTTON ENVELOPE
TALL FLOWERS SHAPED CARD SET...TEMPLATES - CUTTING FILES
TALL PRESENT SHAPED CARD TEMPLATE - CUTTING FILE
TALL CAKE SHAPED CARD TEMPLATE - CUTTING FILE
TALL ICE CREAM SHAPED CARD TEMPLATE - CUTTING FILE

I chose to work with the STRING AND BUTTON ENVELOPE and TALL ICE CREAM SHAPED CARD TEMPLATE - CUTTING FILE. My mind is racing though with projects using the other shaped cards lol I hate when my mind works faster than my hands but the clock works faster than my mind and I can't squeeze everything I want to do in a day.
As always, these files were so much fun to work with, and the possibilities are endless!!
When I seen this ice cream cone, my youngest son Christopher came to mind. He LOVES Chocolate Chip Mint Ice Cream!! I wish I could give him a big ol gallon tub right now, and I'm sure he wishes the same...lol So for now, this will have to do. I hope it brings a smile to his face when he gets it next week.
For this project, I printed out the PDF files that come in the set and then cut out by hand and with my cutter when straight lines were available. I like showing the PDF files in some of my projects instead of my Cameo or Pazzles, to show that you don't need a fancy cutter to use these awesome files! Regina makes sure that all crafters are tended to :)
Once I had my pieces cut out, I ran my ice cream scoops and cone through my Vagabond to give some texture and then added glossy accents for a more icy look. Then I put my envelope together! I LOVE this envelope and it was so fun to put together! It made me pull out my eyelets and crop-a-diles that seems to get ignored lately.
I then used a bit of twine to attach my little sentiment, that ALSO comes in this set. There's so many pieces you'll receive with each of these file sets! So worth the small price!! I also used the same twine on my envelope.
Ok ok I won't keep ya any longer. Head on over to The Cutting Cafe and check out these cute files and all the others in the store!!!!

~SAY CHEESE!!! WITH THE CUTTING CAFE~

The Cutting Cafe
It's Inspiration Time at the Cafe, and we were asked to work with one of the cute files below....
POLAROID AND CAMERA FUN TEMPLATE AND PRINTABLE SET or CAMERA PHOTO SHAPED HOLDER TEMPLATE & CUTTING FILE

It feels so good to be amongst the living once again. This cold that's going around really knocked me off my feet. Blah! I hate feeling sick!! And in the middle of that, my husband had a Dining Out with his company...on a yacht no less!! I was excited to go, since I had never been on a boat of any kind before, but I tell ya, I sure didn't feel like going! It turned out to be a half way enjoyable evening. I got to see a few dolphins swimming in the ocean and of course it's always fun to play dress up for an evening.

So when I seen these files from Regina, I knew it would work perfectly with the picture we had taken that night. I figured my husband could take it up to his office and put it on his desk. I chose to work with the
POLAROID AND CAMERA FUN TEMPLATE AND PRINTABLE SET
I printed the colored camera found in the set four times, so that I could use it for paper piecing to give the camera a 3D feel. And then used my Glossy Accents in some areas for the glass appearance. Then I painted my wood frame and attached the camera, along with a piece of ribbon to look like the neck strap. I think that's all I was doing all night anyways, was taking pictures. So this worked perfectly to remind us of the evening!!! And then I topped it off with one of the sentiments included..."ISN'T HE CUTE!!!!" because afterall I think my husband is the cutest and was honored to be on his arm!!
Ok ok I won't keep ya any longer. Head on over to The Cutting Cafe and check out these cute files and all the others in the store!!!!
