Altered Wood Case

This was a case I altered and made for my Aunt Jan. She's a painter, so I thought she could use it for her painting supplies. The altered sketching journal above went along with it.

House Mouse "Hot Cocoa" & "You're my cup of cocoa!"

This was a card made for my Mother in law for Mother's Day 2008. I thought it was a cute stamp. The inside has the sentiment from Stampibilities that says "You're my Cup of Cocoa". The background was embossed using the Cuttlebug A2 folder, Swiss Dots. Also used the Gamsol Technique on all the cards that are listed.

Basic Hello card made for Jeanette to go with her altered items. Each letter is chipboard that came with a kit from Sams, along with the two chipboard flowers. Ribbon attached with xyron, and brads used for embellishments. Removed the actual brad thingies though. Only used the tops.

Mothers Day Gifts for my Mom

These were made for my mom for Mothers Day 2008. The first is an altered clipboard, middle is an altered easel, and last picture is an altered shadow frame of my moms first great grandchild.

The Clipboard, easel and shadowbox frame was bought from Tuesday Morning and then altered to my liking. You can buy them in kits with all the needed supplies, but I never like the papers when I get started, so I go off on my own. May or may not be a good thing sometimes lol

The clipboard was made for my mom to use up at work. It's pictures of her husband that died Feb 2007, and their poodles, Precious(white) and Tiffany(brown), that have since both passed away over the past 6mths.

The easel pic is of my mom and Doug, and their two poodles, Tiffany and Precious.

Altered Shadowbox with picture of my great niece Nicki. It proved a little more challenging for me but enjoyed making it.

Altered Wood Carrying Case

Not sure the technical name for this case lol but it's found at Michaels too. The following pictures below are each side of the box and close ups of some of the embellishments. It was made for the youngest son of my husbands cousin. His room is done in John Deere and he loves matchbox cars so this is what I came up with. The sides and inside was altered with fabric wrapped around cardboard and hot glued to the wood. All the other embellishments were added with hot glue also. All supplies except fabric was found at Michael's. Fabric was bought from Hobby Lobby.

Front of case. The tacks along the box are actually iron on embellishments that I just used to look like tacks. Hot glued to the fabric. Name is Glittered Chipboard and the praying hands are card charms.

The back side was decorated with farming embellishments and both ends were decorated with cars, trucks, & farming equipment. These embellishments were painted wood decorations that were premade. The vehicles were magnets but I used them on the sides.

Altered Name Sign/Board & Mirror

This was made for my husbands cousins oldest daughter that has been going through some medical issues. Wanted to lift her spirits a bit. The mirror was made to match the Altered Name board. She's not a girlie girl, so I hope I accomplished a female feel without that girlie girl look?

Small Altered Wood Case

Made for my husbands cousins youngest daughter, Elizabeth. These are your basic wood cases you find at Michael's.

Altered Paint Cans

These are a couple of paint cans that I altered. The first 3 is a gallon size paint can I made for my MIL for Mothers Day 2007. She's a big Tony Stewart fan, so I started with Black Cardstock, attached with Mod Podge. 2nd coat of MP to seal it and added my piece of Tony Stewart paper half way down the can. Coat of MP over the Tony Stewart Paper and then wrapped the racing ribbon around the can. Again sealing it with Mod Podge. Embellished the back with 3d Stickers. Letters were cut out with my Cricut. Cartridge used is Tear Drop. Then a variety of ribbons tied around the handle. Tags and can opener attached with fibers. Glass stones hot glued to top of paint lid. The card I made with a SU! Set. I stamped a bottom layer and then embossed the same stamp on a top layer of vellum. The blue mat is embossed with the Swirls Cuttlebug Folder and the heart is a card charm, as well as the word charm at the cottom.

Below is one I made for a friend. It's a pint size can. Made the same way, with mod podge to attach papers, letters and ribbons. Cricut used once again for letters. Glass pebbles and painted drawer knob hot glued to can lid.
