~SMC #27......LET's SEE YOUR EMBOSSING...WET OR DRY~

This weeks challenge at Sew Many Challenges is to use wet or dry embossing in your creation! Even though I don't use embossing in my projects that often, I do love the look of it. I guess I need to use this technique more often, it's one of those techniques that slip my mind until after I get my project done, and then I think I should've used embossing in a particular area. Sort of like a V8 moment lol
So for this weeks project I used a new image from Sew Many Cards called Duncan Under Mushroom Umbrella. It's available through the SMC VIP September Club. For more information you can check out the VIP GROUP.
Our sponsor this week is Stitchy Bear Stamps and the winner will receive 5 digital images of their choice from the SBS Store! So hurry over and play along with us!
Without further ado, my project...lol Thanks for looking and hope you like!

~SMC #25....HAPPY GRANDPARENTS DAY with a lil COURAGE~

Alright I finally got through with my project. It took a little longer than I thought and I'm not quite sure it's what I had in my head, but I know my grandma will like it. She loves the little things even with imperfections. When I was a really little, I had a Fischer-Price Tape player, that I would walk around my grandma's house singing into, and my favorite song to sing to my grandma was Eric Carmen - All By Myself. My grandma is getting up in age now, she's close to 90 and not doing so well with her health, and its this memory that I hold on to, and I know she holds on to as well, because she has to tell everyone about it everytime I go home. So I thought I would use that songs title in my card that I'll be sending to her for Grandparents Day and for her birthday.
Hope you enjoy and thanks for looking!!

Maybe I can tell him I was distracted by mine coming up on Sunday That I forgot about his?? lol Hopefully when he gets it, he puts the sentiment inside the card with the image..we'll see...lol

I love checking out challenge entries because you never know what talents you'll come across, and that's exactly what happened today! We had an entry over at Sew Many Challenges and when I went to the blog, I discovered a blog of inspiration through Sketches! ~CHRISTMAS IN AUGUST~

Aaaah I love Christmas!! So when challenges present themselves to help me get some of my Christmas projects completed ahead of time without the hustlin' and bustlin' of last minute creating, I take advantage. Every year I try to make a few new handmade ornaments for our Christmas tree and make a few as gifts. My goal is to have our entire Christmas tree all handmade ornaments, so we'll see how that goes and how long it takes me to get there lol

This week at Sew Many Challenges, our challenge is to exactly that. Make a Christmas themed project. So I took the opportunity to make another ornament for my tree. For this ornament I used the lovely Bear in Stocking image from Sew Many Cards! I think he's such a cutie looking over the top of the stocking. Reminds me of boys faces when they were younger and would keep getting up and checking their stockings to find that Santa hadn't came yet. With both of them leaving the 'nest' soon, it'll be a bittersweet happy reminder of those times as they're off starting their new journeys!

We hope you'll join us this week at Sew Many Challenges as we have
sponsoring us!! You have a chance of winning 3 digital images from the Stitchy Bear Store! I'll be posting another project later today using an adorable image that Stitch let me play with this week!! So be sure to check back!

Hope you like this weeks project and thank you for looking as always and for leaving such nice comments! They're all appreciated!

~HAPPY ANNIVERSARY & SEW MANY CARDS BLOG HOP~

I hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend! It's been pretty windy and cold here in Arizona, so perfect weather to sit in my room and craft a bit. The card I have for you this week is one that I made for my husband for our 18th Anniversary. He likes to put the cards I make him on his side table next to his side of the bed, so I figured what better card for that than the easel card. Hopefully he'll like it when he wakes up!

For this easel card, I used the Owen & Grace Wedding image from Sew Many Cards. I thought this image was perfect and tried to color it to reflect us 18 years ago, as well as our wedding colors. If you think this image is as cute as I do, then head over to Sew Many Cards and grab it for your next project!! If you'd like a chance at winning this image, then join us at Sew Many Challenges for our May New Release Blog Hop going on NOW!!

So on my card this week, I used Cammi from Sew Many Cards
I'll be sending this to my mother in law, who is a seamstress, so I think it's very fitting for her. I think she'll get a kick and a smile from it.
All the papers came from the DCWV The Crafty Stack. I used some random buttons that I had in my stash. I took some floss thread and spun it around the spool that comes with the image. The sentiment is computer generated using the Topstitch Font. I went back later and added Glossy Accents to the tips of the antennas, nose and Cammi's eyes. I used my copics to color her.
