~Stop by and say Hi at The Cutting Cafe~

Good Morning and Happy Saturday!! I hope everyone's weekend is off to a great start!!! It's supposed to get chilly here, but we'll see. Think I'll run out to some yard sales and see if anyones getting rid of some treasures...some crafty treasures!! Before I do that, I wanted to share this really cute bike set called Let's Go For A Ride that Regina released over at The Cutting Cafe! I think it's just the cutest! She's got so many different bikes, scenes and sentiments in this set. You're surely to find what ya need to come up with your own little bike card.
I chose this little scene and bike to send to my nephew and his wife. They're such sweethearts and two of my very best friends. I love and miss them so much, and I wish I could hop on a bike right now and ride over and see them. Unfortunately I'm in AZ and they're in GA, so it would be quite the ride, but if I thought I could make it, I'd be on my way. So hopefully they'll enjoy this little card when it stops by!
Anyways, back to my card. I took the images and manipulated them a bit in my Paintshop Pro program, and added in the sentiment over the sign that's already there, and finished it off into a bigger sign. I also took a cotton ball and put it on the clouds, thought it would give it some texture and just a fun addition. It kind of reminds me of the Pee Wee Herman bike haha
Well I hope this little card inspires you to make something fun today and let someone that you may not get to see as much as you'd like, know you're thinking of them!

~The Cutting Cafe Inspiration...For That Wonderful Mom & 2011 Calendar Set~

The cutting cafe blinkie
I hope everyone had a wonderful President's Day for those that had it off. Back to work but at least it'll be a short week for most! Today I have some inspiration for you from The Cutting Cafe! Why?? Because they're our monthly sponsor over at Craft Us Crazy for the month of February and I just love all of Regina's stamp sets and files, probably why I'm on her DT as well. It's easy to promote a company when you love their products!!

My moms birthday is coming up on March 5th, and with not being close to home, I wanted to make her something special that she could use at work. So as soon as Regina showed me this sweet set, For That Wonderful Mom, I knew I wanted to use it for her birthday. Don't get me wrong, there's so many wonderful verses, that I'll be using it for Mother's Day also. But I knew I wanted to use these sweet words to tell my mom how special she is on her birthday. I used the 2011 Calender Printable Stamp Set from The Cutting Cafe as well. I immediately knew which image I wanted to use with these sweet words. It's Dress Up Time from Kelley Kid's. I thought she was just adorable and would look perfect on the gift I wanted to make my mom. Soooo...with that said..this is what I came up with...
I made her a post it note and calendar frame that she could use on her desk at work. It's made with an 8 x 10 acrylic from that I picked up from Michael's the last time I was in Tucson. I've always wanted to alter an acrylic frame, but have always been intimidated by them. I have to say though I had fun with this one!
I know I won't be able to wait until March 5th, so this will be shipped out this week I'm sure lol I'm bad at keeping things until the right dates. But anyways, I hope you like it, and I really hope my mom likes it when she gets it!  Below are a few more pictures of the back and again of the front so you can see the glossy accents on the shoes and bow, and the liquid pearls on her necklace. The image is up under the frame, so it's not easily seen.
Thanks for looking and I hope you'll check out The Cutting Cafe and Kelley Kid's for more inspiration!! And we hope you'll join us over at Craft Us Crazy for our current challenge!!

~Brrrrr it's cold Outside at Craft Us Crazy!!~

You notice I said at Craft Us Crazy! Here in Arizona, it's a bright and sunny day! We're sitting at 72 degrees right now, so I'm going to enjoy it while I can! And what better way to enjoy any weather...well in my opinion, since there's really not anything around us to do...Craft the days away!!!
So for our challenge at Craft Us Crazy this week is something that makes you think of WINTER!!!! And nothings better during the winter than snuggling up with a warm blanket by a fire if you have one, with a good book and a hot cup of chocolate!
So that's exactly what I came up with for this challenge using an adorable image donated by our talented sponsor Meljen's Designs!!
For this project, I chose to use the Yeti Cocoa image and some fabulous papers I had won in a blog candy giveaway from the talented and my dear friend, Wendy Ramlakhan. I think he turned out adorable and screams winter, with his little cup of cocoa. I also used the Corner bookmark Tutorial found HERE. Super easy and fun to make!

~Beautiful Flowers at The Cutting Cafe & Giveaway!!~

Happy Sunday everyone!! One more day until Valentine's...is everyone ready?? I have to take my son to pick up his flowers for his girlfriend today. At least I did raise my boys to treat their girlfriends right, I hope it carries on through life when they have a wife. As my husband tells me, he doesn't have to "shmooze" me or try to impress me anymore since we're married. Must be why Valentine's is just another day around here lol Anywho...just because he's a fuddy dud doesn't mean we can't have some fun! And Regina over at The Cutting Cafe is allowing us to do just that!!!
This month at The Cutting Cafe, our monthly inspiration is GREEN! So I used the Beautiful Flowers Colored Printable Stamp Set from The Cutting Cafe to inspire me as I used the color GREEN throughout my project. There is so much to be inspired by in this set, but I wanted to use the Black and White digital stamp of a BEAUTIFUL FLOWER that is included along with one of the included sentiments. So I hope I succeeded with inspiring you to make something with the color green!!!
Ohhhh but I'm not through...this month at The Cutting Cafe, Regina is letting us offer you the set that we've chosen to work with!! How do you get it you ask...JUST LEAVE A COMMENT! That's it!!! I will be drawing a name for a winner on Feb. 20th, my youngest sons 17th birthday!! So go HERE and check out this BEAUTIFUL set and if you'd like a chance to win it... come back here to my blog and leave me a comment in this post!!!
And if you'd like a chance at winning 3 more FREE sets from The Cutting Cafe, join us over at Craft Us Crazy, as Regina is sponsoring us this month!!!

Have a great day and thanks for looking!!

With Valentine's Day around the corner, I knew I wanted to make another Valentine's gift. Another that I'm not sure where it'll go, but maybe I'll come up with someone.

For this challenge I chose to work with and the Claudia Cow Colored Image from Digital Delights and the 2011 Calendar Printable Stamp Set from The Cutting Cafe!! I chose the colored version of Claudia because I knew I wanted to print it multiple times so that I could layer her for a 3D look, but she's also available in black and white form!! I used two pieces of wood that came in a gift that I received from Christmas one year that I of course held on to because I just knew it would come in handy one day lol and IT DID!!! I painted both of them, and hand painted the clouds on the top piece, and free handed a cow pattern to match Claudia on my bottom piece, and attached the calendar to the front side with double ribbon bows, and used my Tim Holtz Swivel Clasps to attach it all and allow it to turn at the bottom and find the sticky note pad on the backside.  I had so much fun making this project and hope you enjoy checking it out!!!

~ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOOOOOTBALLL???~

HAPPY HUMP DAY!!!! I hope everyone is waking up to a beautiful day. I know a lot of folks are having very cold days still so stay warm and inside as much as you can. Here in Arizona, it's been a little cool but nothing like everyone else is having. It's actually getting back up into the 70s during the day, so it's been nice!

Anyways, I have a fun little card for you today. Everyone knows what February 6, 2011 is right?? WHAT?!?! YOU DON'T?!?! Well it's SUPERBOWL SUNDAY!!!!!!!! The 2nd day of most consumed food in the USA behind Thanksgiving! That little fact when I read it surprised me really. Guess I need to go back to the grocery store!

Congratulations to all the Steelers fans out there...and the ahem... Packer fans! My team obviously didn't make it, but HOPEFULLY we'll be there next year! But since I couldn't make any cards or have a party for my team, I made a little Invite card for a friends brother that is a die hard Steelers fan. So hopefully he'll like it when he receives it!!

For this card I used a cute little collaboration set by Stitchy Stamps and Panda Bear Designs called Football Mini Kit. I did open it up in PSP and with the artists permission, and alter the number and helmet icon so that I could put the appropriate numbers on their jerseys. I don't usually use digital papers, but I'm finding myself liking them more and more. You have everything you need in this little set, from the digital stamps to your papers. So head on over and grab this little set so you can get your cards and favors ready for all those Superbowl Parties coming up!!!
If you will be going to parties or having parties, be safe, smart and live to see the next Superbowl! And of course have fun!!!

~A Few Birthday Cards~

Happy Monday to everyone! Wait...is that even possible....a HAPPY Monday?? Hmm I'll have to think about it and let ya know on Tuesday. Anyways just a short posting today with a few birthday cards that I made for my sister and sister in law. It's very sad that I've been married to my husband for almost 20 yrs, and I really don't know anything about his brother's wife. With us in the military, I see them MAYBE once a year at the holidays and then nothing in between. So it was really hard to come up with something for her, not really knowing things she liked. But I think the decoupaged card I finally settled on works, and hopefully she'll like it. So far so good on my resolution of sending out cards to everyone!

Ok so this one was for my sister. I was inspired by Holly and loved her sentiment that she used, so I knew it would make a cute card for my sister. More than not, my sister has a pretty good sense of humor, so hopefully she got a chuckle out of it.The image is from Squigglefly. Papers are from the DCWV Latte Stack. Her favorite color is Purple, so tried to make that the main color of the card.

The card below is the one I finally decided on for my sister in law. It's a decoupage sheet I bought from CraftsuPrint and made by Carol Clarke
I liked the colors of it and though it was subtle and would fit any personality. Well I hope so anyways lol I printed it out a few times and pieced different areas. Some that were shown on the sheet, and other areas that I chose to do on my own. Highlighted some areas with Crystal Stickles and Tiara Glitz Stickles and put it on a black cardstock base.

Thanks for looking and hope they inspire you to make something today!

~I Can See It Clearly at Frosted Designs Challenge Blog & A Giveaway~

I was recently asked to be a Guest Designer at Frosted Designs Challenge Blog, and how could I say NO! I got to work with a great image from Stitchy Stamps AND be a guest at Frosted Designs...and like that wasn't enough, I even got this cute little blinkie to put on my blog... now on to the challenge this week!!

Frosted Designs

This week over at Frosted Designs, our challenge was to use Acrylic, Vellum, Acetate, or some sort of transparency on your project. I knew immediately what I wanted to make with Valentines around the corner. I chose to work with a cute little image from this weeks sponsor, Stitchy Stamps, called Puppy Love. I thought he/she was just the cutest, and what's more loveable than a puppy! I used acetate, which in my world is just an old piece of transparency from an old package or box that I recycled. Why pay high prices when its right there in a lot of the things you buy. So I warn you now there's a lot of pictures!
So I took my adorable puppy and decided to make a little box with card set. I used the Stationary Box with lid and Envelope/Liner cutting file from The Cutting Cafe and the Words of Love Colored Printable Stamp set to accomplish this idea of mine. I used a larger puppy on the lid of my box and then smaller puppies on my cards to keep with the focal point. I think it turned out rather cute and I hope you think so as well! So head on over to Frosted Designs and play along for a chance to win a Gift Certificate to Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps!!!
Hmmm and now to figure out who to give it to...maybe a little blog candy to help celebrate my Guest DT spot?? If anyone's interested in this posted project, please leave a comment below stating that you'd love to have this card set, and I'll do a drawing on Jan 27th, the end of this weeks challenge at Frosted Designs!

~BINGO!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY...THE CUTTING CAFE~

Hey yall!!! Phew thank gosh it's Thursday! This year is already flying by, I mean we're almost done wih January! We'll be celebrating 2012 before we know it!!  But that means I need to get realllllly moving on Birthday cards then! It's my goal this year to make and send out a birthday card to most of my family this year. I would love to send out to everyone (cousins, aunts, uncles, 2nd-3rd cousins and so forth), but geez I would never be doing anything else if I done that, and honestly I don't know everyones birthday...oops! Ahh well if it wasn't posted on Facebook, they wouldn't know mine either lol so we're all even!
Anyways, on to my card this week! This card was made for my mother in law. I love the Bingo sets that Regina has at The Cutting Cafe, so for this card I chose to go with the Bingo Card Set Printable Stamp set. There are SOOOOO MANY pieces in this set, that you could make a card for any occassion! Hopefully she'll get what I was going for with the Happy 'Bee' Day, but if not, she'll think it says HAPPY DAY! lol I used the bee from the Animal and Bug Mini Colored Circle Printable Stamp Set and cut it out to put on top of my ribbon flower, layering it twice to give it some depth. Used some black wire from my stash to make his antennas. Not real thrilled with the colors but it's her favorite colors and her card so what can I do..lol I probably would've threw this paper out since it came in one of my stacks but I think I'll put it in a special 'Mother In Law' drawer.
I hope you enjoyed checking it out and as always thank you for visiting and taking time to leave me little comments! They're always fun to read and always appreciated!! Now what are you headed for, head on over to The Cutting Cafe and check out all the inspiration that's posted there, along with all the wonderful stamp sets and cutting files and see what you can be inspired to make!!

~Rockin' Inspiration~

Hello everyone!! Yep I'm back! What can I say, when I see something that inspires me, I can't stop until I get it done, and that's exactly what happened here! Quite a few people played hands in inspiring this little project! Oh how I miss my kiddos being young, but even tweens would like this one. Heck I'm th..nevermind....and I would love to receive one lol Ok so I love following Lorri over at Confessions of a Stamping Addict and I love trying to see what I can translate over to The Cutting Cafe files when I find something that inspires me. And the other day I accomplished that goal!! Lorri posted the cutest Ipod project that she was inspired by from a magazine called Family Fun, but then I thought of the Conversations Candy Box at The Cutting Cafe....and VOILA!!
I had to cut down the box a bit because of them making the SweetHearts boxes a little smaller this year, but that wasn't a problem at all. I then used the lil playlist template from the magazine mentioned above, being inspired by my cousin Jen and her love of the group 311, and changed the list to songs that she would like and has a Valentine feel. Instead of the peanut butter cups, I used these cute little heart shaped chocolates that I found last night while hunting for the SweetHearts. Such a fun and quick Valentine's gift. I also used the All Occasion Tag Set from The Cutting Cafe to give it more of a personal touch. I hope you like and it inspires you to try something new today!!! Thanks for looking!
