~INSPIRATION AT THE CUTTING CAFE~

Happy Tuesday everyone!!!
Phew we've made it to Tuesday. For some of us, we're having a short week this week, and then next week its back to a full one. I already miss my husband being around the house, the holidays has a way of spoiling us! Today was Christopher's first day back to school after his car accident. It's definitely been a long few months, but a very THANKFUL one more importantly. We've got a few more months of rehab ahead, but he's a strong kid, so I know he'll pull through.  Also..I'm happy to announce that I've been chosen to rejoin the design team at The Cutting Cafe!! I'm so excited to be with Regina and all the ladies once again. I love all of Regina's files and stamps, so it's never hard coming up what to do with them, my hardest choice is which file to use, as you'll see below lol
With that being said, its Inspiration Time at The Cutting Cafe!! This week we were asked to work with the Loopy Loop Bow Flower! I love this file because it's so versatile, and it comes with the bow it two different forms...with the holes and a plain one. This file comes in PDF, WPC and SVG format, for those of us with electric cutters and without. For my bow, I used the PDF file, to show how easy and cute it comes out even if you use your old faithful scissors. This bow will work with whatever project you have going, it's all in the papers you use. So get those Valentine ideas flowing, and fit this lovely Loopy Loop Bow Flower into your sketch!!
For my project this week, I made a little set for my aunt's granddaughter, Olivia. They like to send mail to each other, so I thought they could use this during their craft time while she's at my aunt's house. Olivia has been under the weather recently so I hope this brings a smile to her face :)
and more pictures of inside the box using even more files from The Cutting Cafe!!!

Regina personalized some handmade labels for Olivia to use from the Handmade Just For You Labels
Thanks for checking out my project, and be sure to head over to The Cutting Cafe tomorrow (Wednesday, Jan 4, 2012) for more inspiration and a giveaway!!!

~Having Fun With Penguins~

Wow it's been awhile. Surprised I remember how to post on here. So much has happened over the past month or so. My youngest son had a wreck last month and it totally knocked the sails out from beneath me, but I think we're slowly getting back to normal again. A few more weeks and he gets his cast off and starts rehab. It could've been so much worse, so we're blessed that he was able to walk away with a few broken bones.

Anyways, with everything going on my mojo totally left me. I wasn't sure when and if it would return. Then an email came through from The Cutting Cafe, and it was some fun new items Regina was releasing. In it was a set called Fun with Penguins, and she was so right, it was so much fun to play with!! As soon as I seen that cute little penguin, something sparked and I had to play with it!!! So with that, I set off to see what fun I could have with him, and fun I had. Put it this way, I think I cut him out with my Pazzles and Make The Cut around 9pm last night and the next time I looked at my clock it was 4:30am. Then I came back in tonight and put him together once everything was good and dry.  Everything I used on my cute little penguin comes in the set, including the sentiment you see on the flag, but you'll have many choices if you want to give as a birthday present and so forth.
I hope you enjoy checking out the pictures and hope you'll check The Cutting Cafe store for your own dose of fun and crafting mojo!!! Most all of the files and sets come in PDF, WPC and SVG format.

Happy Monday night to everyone!!! I swear it's only May 2nd, and it feels like it's been May for a few weeks now. It seems like April and May has been like a run on sentence...here in my home anyways..lol If it's not ONE thing, it's a million I tell ya!! Anyways, I'm running late, as usual, but wanted to post my card that I made for my husband for our 19th Anniversary today and then it's on to another card that I'll be posting hopefully tomorrow...God willing!

Anyways, this card was inspired by my dear friend Wendy, and you can find all her wonderful creations HERE and her Etsy store is HERE! She has been such an inspiration to me over the past year or so since I came across her blog through a challenge she entered, that I will never be able to thank her enough for all her help, tips and advice. I may not always take her shopping advice though..lol I try and she tries to save me money, and my husband thanks her for it, but I'm stubborn in that department still lol So thank you Wendy, yet again for being my inspiration with this project!! You can find her beautiful card that this card was CASE'd from HERE.

~ELISHA JEAN & THE CUTTING CAFE WISHES YOU HAPPY SPRING!!~

The cutting cafe blinkie

Happy Hump Day and Happy Spring!!
It's a beautiful day here in Arizona! Bright and sunny with a nice breeze! Weather just like I like it. Hopefully it won't be too harsh of a summer or Monsoon season this year. The Cutting Cafe has some adorable new little girl images. Regina definitely took me back to my paper doll days with these little beauties!
For my project this week, I chose to make a Spring sign and really wanted to work with Elisha Jean from the Everyday Elisa Jean and Friends release. I gave her a nice paper pieced dress from my DCWV Spring Stack. Again back to my paper doll days! I then pulled out this cute Spring Title Printable Stamp, also from The Cutting Cafe, choosing to use the colored version printed multiple times to give it depth, and then using patterned paper for my background on my sign from my DCWV Spring Stack!

I used Copics
Hair - C3, C5, C7
Skin - E25, E33, E34
Bow, Socks & Shoes - Y17, E17, R20, R22
I used various ribbons from my ribbon wall and a piece of chipboard to give my sign sturdiness.
Elisha Jean looks so cute on my Spring sign but she and her friends, Ruby J and Mikala Ann, would make adorable paper dolls for that special girl in your life!!!

~CUTTING CAFE MONTHLY INSPIRATION....BACKGROUNDS~

The cutting cafe blinkie
Welcome to another Cutting Cafe Monthly Inspiration!!! This month Regina challenged us to use backgrounds. I chose to use the Time 2 Background Printable Stamp. Unbelievably the school year will be coming to an end soon. It feels like this year, especially the school year, has just flown by so far. And what does that mean...GRADUATION! So I figured I'd get a few cards made up in case my boys had any friends graduating this year, and if not, I can put it up for my nephew that will be graduating next year, since it's done in his school colors. Anyways, graduation makes me think of TIME...time that you've spent studying, time that you've spent planning out your future, time that you've spent in school since you were a wee little thing, and the time that you will always feel you're up against as you're moving down your new path in life.
Along with this background image, I also used the Happy Graduation Huge Circle Set and the Ribbons Sentiments Banner Set & Shaped Card that you can find at The Cutting Cafe as well. I love the Ribbons Sentiments Banner set, it's so versatile and along with the backgrounds, you could make so many quick cards to keep on hand.

~OPERATION WRITE HOME BUNNY HOP & CANDY TO THE CUTTING CAFE~

Good morning and happy Saturday!!! Today is the day...what day ya ask?? The Operation Write Home Bunny Hop!! You should've began your hop at OWH Stars and Stamps, if you didn't, please hop back to the front and start your hop over, as we would hate for you to miss any of the creations from all of the fabulous talent in this blog hop! If you did, then you should've arrived here from Maritza's fabulous blog.

Before I post my card, I want to post two important deadlines...
  • Easter Card Deadline - March 18th
  • Mother's Day Deadline - March 31
If you'd like to participate in Operation Write Home, the best starting spot is the "Get Involved" page on the OWH website. It gives you all the information that a newbie would need to get started. And if you should have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask..there's always someone that can help you and plenty of heroes that could use a card to send to a loved one back home, or a loved one that's overseas as well.

So for my card, I chose an Easter card to post. I do have glitter on my card, but it's Stickles and then covered with Glossy Accents, to keep any flaking of the glitter. We can't put our heroes in harm's way by covering them in glitter now can we?

On a personal note - As a military spouse and soon to be military mom, I would like to Thank everyone that participates with Operation Write Home, or any other organization that helps our heroes while they're away from home. It's awesome and heart warming to know that there's folks out there willing to give of their personal time. So thank you to each and every one of you from my family to yours.

Now on to my card and a chance to win some candy.....

If you'd like to win a $10 Gift Certificate to THE CUTTING CAFE, please leave a comment below and I'll draw a winner on Monday, March 7th, 2011.

~Stop by and say Hi at The Cutting Cafe~

Good Morning and Happy Saturday!! I hope everyone's weekend is off to a great start!!! It's supposed to get chilly here, but we'll see. Think I'll run out to some yard sales and see if anyones getting rid of some treasures...some crafty treasures!! Before I do that, I wanted to share this really cute bike set called Let's Go For A Ride that Regina released over at The Cutting Cafe! I think it's just the cutest! She's got so many different bikes, scenes and sentiments in this set. You're surely to find what ya need to come up with your own little bike card.
I chose this little scene and bike to send to my nephew and his wife. They're such sweethearts and two of my very best friends. I love and miss them so much, and I wish I could hop on a bike right now and ride over and see them. Unfortunately I'm in AZ and they're in GA, so it would be quite the ride, but if I thought I could make it, I'd be on my way. So hopefully they'll enjoy this little card when it stops by!
Anyways, back to my card. I took the images and manipulated them a bit in my Paintshop Pro program, and added in the sentiment over the sign that's already there, and finished it off into a bigger sign. I also took a cotton ball and put it on the clouds, thought it would give it some texture and just a fun addition. It kind of reminds me of the Pee Wee Herman bike haha
Well I hope this little card inspires you to make something fun today and let someone that you may not get to see as much as you'd like, know you're thinking of them!
